Generating new leads with Marketing

Since starting working as Growth Coach and Trainer at the start of the year I have applied the Orbit Diagram to Marketing Activities as well as to a three year growth Plan.

I always advise multiple lead generation and brand awareness marketing activities, but when you’re working with micro businesses it can be difficult for them to undertake them all at the same time. So we start with 2 or 3 and ensure the client gets those right and working for them, then we add another 1 or 2 to the mix and build those up and so on.

We have found that along the way you can drop an activity that isn’t working for you and replace it with another because you have been able to create the time to monitor the ROI on the activities properly.

A lot has also depended on client budgets, realistic goals, being realistic about what they can deliver and to whom, and of course identifying the correct targets.

But I always say “don’t be afraid to try something new”. If it doesn’t work, you can always move on to something else providing you haven’t bet everything on only one marketing activity.

Try as many routes to market as you can realistically manage. Social media channels are free so use them extensively, join online marketing channels like The Best of Manchester, go out and meet people, join referral marketing groups such as BOB Club in Worsley. Don’t be afraid to experiment, but above all be patient because developing worthwhile relationships takes time, but the rewards are worth it.
