I am writing this at the end of quite an intense 8-days of training.

Day 1: 4.5miles

Day2: 8miles

Day 3: 5.5miles

Day 4: Rest

Day 5: Rest

Day 6: 6miles

Day 7: 3miles

Day 8: 13.4miles

Total: 40.4miles

And now I’m beat! But this morning’s long run has given me a good idea as to where I am regarding my fitness and how much I still need to do to be ready for April 19th.

It was a cold start today with the temperature at -1 degrees when we set of at 9am. The pace was brisk in the group and was much faster than my planned race-day pace 8:41, 8:22, 8:16, 8:27, 8:30, 8:43 for the first 6 miles. I’d decided after mile 5 to slow the pace down as my race-day pace will be closer to 8:55 per mile.

After plenty of stretching I can now relax… Until 7pm tomorrow when Circuit Training starts again!
